Whether you're planning your first trade show or knocking out your umpteenth, working with a small booth is always tough. Usually the small space is accompanied by a small budget, which makes your task even more challenging. Sound familiar?

All trade show booths require careful planning (here's our planning checklist! (http://info.aceexhibits.com/trade-show-checklist)). That's a given. Small booths need extra planning and a dash of ingenuity. You definitely need to be ready to think outside the box if you want your space to be show-stopping.

At Ace Exhibits, we know how extra-challenging small spaces can be. We keep their limitations in mind when designing new products, which means you have a lot of options. Here are six of our most popular - and economical - displays that work well in small spaces.

1. Table Top Displays

These are simple displays, but totally great for small spaces. They sit on top of a standard presentation table giving the illusion of a full-size backdrop while maintaining display/counter space. They're easy to set up and come in an array of sizes. Add a table throw or fitted table cover to give the look a polished, professional finish. Ta! Da! Big space look, small space budget.

2. Banner Stands

If you want a free-standing display that fits in a small space, a banner stand is your solution. They're lightweight, super simple to assemble, and extremely versatile. You can choose from retractable, non-retractable, indoor, outdoor, big, little, fat, thin... there's even a mini tabletop version (http://www.acebannerstands.com/smurf-mini-table-top-banner-stand.html)! Alone or in groups, they look great, make a big impact and fit in booths large and small.

3. FlexDrop Adjustable Banner Stand

The FlexDrop is a basic tension fabric backdrop. Its simple construction makes it portable, easy to set-up/take down and extremely affordable. What makes it great for small spaces? It has three width-height combinations! You determine its size. It can be tall, short, fat, thin... whatever your space calls for. If your next space is bigger, it can be adjusted to meet the new space requirements. Replacement graphics keep it versatile and ready for any occasion. As your trade show experience grows (and you get more space), you can couple the FlexDrop with other displays, accessories or more FlexDrops.

4. Tru-Fit Links

These are one of our newest products. They're tension fabric banner stands that are designed to work alone or in groups. They come in various widths making it easy to find the right fit for your space. They also have different shapes (rounded, angled, flat) which allows you create visual interest quickly and easily. We've bundled them into configurations making it affordable to buy more than one. Incredibly versatile, they're quick and easy to use and adjust to any size booth.

5. Hanging Signs

It's easy to forget the space above your head, but it's a great resource - and not often used! We have hanging signs in all shapes and sizes: flat, curved, triangle, pinwheel, square, serpentine. Use them alone or in conjunction with land-based displays. Either way, they're sure-fire attention-getters. Your exhibitor's manual will have details about how to get them put up.

6. Kiosks and Stackers

Kiosks and stackers are specialty banner stands designed to accommodate technology needs and provide more display area. Their vertical orientation is well suited to small spaces. Like the banner stands, their compact size makes them easy to transport and assemble. They're a great way to add interest to your space without looking cluttered and disorganized.

7. Other Options

Sometimes the best of use of your small space comes from the unexpected. For instance, maybe a sandwich board - or a group of them - would be an efficient, space-saving option to garner attention. Maybe you really save space by foregoing a backdrop and using a counter or a funnel tower as your focal point. These choices create surprise which piques the viewer's curiosity. They'll be compelled to get closer (i.e. visit your booth).

Designing a small space is challenging. That's never going to change. However, with careful planning and these small space-compatible displays, you can create a truly compelling environment attendees will want to visit. Give it a try!
